The ultimate goal of treatment is to enable a patient to live in the community with skills to promote emotional, personal, and independent development as well as relationship building. Interventions are designed to provide patients with useful tools to manage their symptoms while improving their coping abilities. A primary focus of treatment is placed on relapse prevention and education.
